It has been extremely cold in London, as expected. It well known that February is one of the coldest months over here, but occasionally we are blessed with mild weather. So a few days ago when the weather picked up, albeit it temporarily, I decided to wear this cool double denim and faux fur outfit. Of course I had to take a few shots, to post on the blog.
With this outfit I paired together both old and new pieces. I teamed up y long-line Misspap blue denim jacket with a matching mini skirt from Missguided. I decided to keep things neutral; opting for a white long sleeve t-shirt from Zara, sock boots from Public Desire 9which are currently on sale), a faux fur stole from Zara and a matching wide brim fedora hat from Forever 21. I finished off the look, with a ChloƩ inspired bag, from MissPap. I must admit, this outfit has got me longing for warmer days... roll on Spring.

"I always feel that if you're gonna be uncomfortable and unhappy in something, just because you think it's in or it's chic, I would advise you to be happy rather than well dressed. It's better to be happy."
- Iris Apfel
Recently a friend of mine passed away, before her time and it got me thinking... reflecting... it changed my mindset, on almost everything. Make the most of today, for tomorrow is not promised. Forget about what people think of you and do what makes you happy. If you're not hurting anyone, well then, what's the problem?! Life is for living and enjoying, making the most of each day and doing what you love. And that's how I intend to live the rest of my life; making the most of my blessings and seizing opportunities that will better me and those I hold dear.
What's the point in having amazing clothes hanging in your wardrobe gathering dust, what are you waiting for? If putting on those 5 inch heels and amazing mini skirt make you feel good, wear it whenever you want. If you want to dye your hair purple and are scared of what others think, forget them, be brave and go for it. I've always been told I over-dress and you know what, I love it. I don't want to look like everyone else, I love being the odd one out, having my own style... some people may love it and some may dislike it, but hey, that's me and I'm not sorry.
'Treble' is the fourth of my six outfits from my current look-book; 'Love Denim'. The look is all about being comfortable in my own skin, embracing my curves, my blessings and what others would call my flaws. Showing that I'm not afraid to be me and I don't care what others think; I wear what I want, when I want, to where I want. Today I feel sexy, so I wore this denim wrapped dress from Pretty Little Thing (sold out, alternatives here and here), Longline Denim Jacket from Misspap and this cure blue cross body bag from Shein. I finished off the look with my favourite perspex heeled sandals from Public Desire. Who said double denim was a fashion faux pas? The more denim the better!

- Diana Vreeland
So this is outfit number three of my Love Denim look-book, this time I decided to embrace my roots, my African roots. What was once a denim look scarf from Zara, was used to create a head scarf, which tied in the different tones of my denim outfit. This long skirt, admittedly an unusual length for me, was bought from Forever 21 last year (alternative here), and as well as being featured for the first time, is being worn for the first time. I decided to pair the long line skirt with my belted denim jacket from ASOS (sold out), cute tan heeled sandals (alternative here and here) and my cute matching Michael Kors cross body bag (larger size here). Not every day westernised ensembles.

'Ties' is the second of my five outfits from my latest look book "Love Denim'. As my shopping ban continues, I decided to feature some pieces that have already made an appearance on the blog, but the look can still be achieved with similar pieces available on the high-street.
A few months ago I bought a striped shirt from Zara, a multi way shirt, that can be worn in a number of ways to achieve different looks. I was such a fan of the arms tied to the front look, I decided to go for the same look with my oversized denim shirt (similar here). I teamed up my shirt with a denim look midi pencil skirt (alternative here), Burgundy Converse and a cross body bag (similar here) in the same hue, to match my new hair colour. I finished off the look with oversized sunglasses and Barry M Cosmetics denim coloured nail polish, a little extra something.

Now, I'm not saying all the Rugrat character were brats, but when I reminisce about the program that's what comes to mind, brats, especially the pig-tail wearing Angelica. I picked this top up from Forever 21 a while ago and had been meaning to feature it on the blog, and finally I got round to it. It reminds me of the time when I was younger and I'd sit with my siblings watching cartoons, for what seemed like hours. One of my favourite was Rugrats, I loved the little adventures Tommy and Chucky would go on, and the mischievous plans Angelica would make. Yep, it was a firm favourite. I decided to keep the outfit cool and casual teaming it up with double denim; a ripped denim skirt from Missguided and a ripped denim long-line jacket from Misspap (similar here). I finished of the look with cool shades from Shein, clean white Adidas trainers and a simple white clutch. Nothing fussy, just simple and laid back... like I was, when I was a child.

Today I decided to keep things casual with denim, teaming a simple shirt and a mini skater skirt. I went a little western by teaming the ensemble with a tan fringed bag and matching sandals. My gold aviators made the perfect finishing touch.

Oh I love denim, can't live without it. Whether it's skinny jeans (check out my post on Topshop Leigh Skinny Jeans) or a denim shirt, every season without fail I'm sporting something denim. It's just one of those materials, trends, looks that never goes out of fashion, definitely a wardrobe staple!
Though I've always loved wearing denim, I've never been a big fan of wearing double denim, yep that's denim from head to toe. I'm not saying I hated it, it was just one of those trends that never excited me. Then I saw a photo of Rihanna (whose looks I always love) looking sexy in double denim; a low buttoned denim shirt and a ripped denim skirt, she looked amazing!! She showed that denim can be sexy and casual at the same time. That's where my love for double even triple head to toe denim started.
Rihanna
I started to notice more and more celebrities donning denim, some head to toe and some donning staple pieces. I particularly love denim hot pants, but with the miserable weather in the UK there's barely an opportunity to wear the pin displaying shorts. Though I must admit they look quite nice with black opaque tights, a rock shirt and leather biker jacket... I really do love that look.
L-R: Jourdan Dunn, Kelly Rowland, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Frankie Sandford, Mollie King & Jessie J.
There are some great pieces on the high street right now, so many it was hard for me to narrow it down to my favourite 10. Here's some different denim garments that I'm loving right now:
Cheap Monday
Motel
River Island
ASOS
The Ragged Priest
Warehouse
Diesel
River Island
ASOS
Hilfiger
I really do love dressing up denim, whether it is to make it look funky, sexy or retro and my favourite way of doing it is by pairing my denim outfit with some amazing shoes; whether they be a bold colour, funky design or have a sexy killer heel. Here are a few I'd definitely team up with a denim outfit:
Clockwise: JuJu Vicky, ASOS, Senso Xixi and Aldo
