"Conformity is the only real fashion crime. To not dress like yourself and to sublimate your spirit to some kind of group identity is succumbing to fashion fascism."

1985 was a great year, some of my favourite celebs and sports stars were born and my mother gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in the late Autumn, me...ha ha. Not but seriously, the likes of Christians Ronaldo, Janelle MonaƩ, Bruno Mars, Ciara, J Cole, Wayne Rooney, Lewis Hamilton and many more greats were born. So when I spotted this shirt on the H&M website I decided to purchase it, put together an outfit and celebrate the creations on that year.

With this outfit I decided to keep it casual, I teamed up the tie front tea from H&M with a faux leather mini skirt from Zara (sold out), a long-line denim jacket from Misspap (similar here) and cool all white Adidas trainers. I finished off the look with a bold red lip, just to spice things up a little.

Now, I'm not saying all the Rugrat character were brats, but when I reminisce about the program that's what comes to mind, brats, especially the pig-tail wearing Angelica. I picked this top up from Forever 21 a while ago and had been meaning to feature it on the blog, and finally I got round to it. It reminds me of the time when I was younger and I'd sit with my siblings watching cartoons, for what seemed like hours. One of my favourite was Rugrats, I loved the little adventures Tommy and Chucky would go on, and the mischievous plans Angelica would make. Yep, it was a firm favourite. I decided to keep the outfit cool and casual teaming it up with double denim; a ripped denim skirt from Missguided and a ripped denim long-line jacket from Misspap (similar here). I finished of the look with cool shades from Shein, clean white Adidas trainers and a simple white clutch. Nothing fussy, just simple and laid back... like I was, when I was a child.

I'll never get tired of double denim, in fact I can only grow to love it more and more. Especially when retailers offer such cool pieces that I can't resist buying. Like this oversized distressed jacket from Misspap and this torn skirt from Missguided... oh, of course I can't resist.

In fact I've got quite a few double denim outfits coming to the blog in the next few weeks and more over the course of Spring/Summer... so keep an eye out. But first, lets start with my first double denim outfit of the year 'Seeing Double'.

With this outfit I wanted to go for a cool laid back look, which was both casual and sexy. Sticking to my no shopping ban (which actually officially starts 1st May) I decided to utilise both old and new,  teaming up my denim duo (a couple of months old) with my new all white Adidas Stan Smiths and a deep v wrap bodysuit, originally from Pretty Little Thing, but now sold out (don't worry I've included a link to a similar one). I finished off the look with a simple white clutch bag and my favourite rounded sunglasses from Shein.

It's cold outside, but surprisingly for this time of year not as bitter as it ought to be and I'm taking full advantage of that. Today I realised my inner tomboy, the one I suppressed for so many years. It's back and with a vengeance... thanks to this comfy little bomber jacket from Topshop. I decided to keep things comfy and simple, teaming the jacket with a plain black v neck tee from H&M and some rolled  up skinny jeans from Levi's. The comfy trainers are from Adidas, fit well with the sporty look, complimented by the khaki beanie and cool sunglasses.
