My Travels: Portugal

So, it's been a little quiet on the blog for the past week or so and that's because I was extremely busy with work and getting last minute things in place for my trip to Portugal. Since I neglected the blog, I thought it best to let you know what I was up to. So from now on as well as fashion I'll be keeping you posted on my adventures... showing you where I went and more importantly what I wore.

I prefer to visit new places rather than go back to places I've already explored. There's something exciting about exploring the unknown... so I was a little reluctant when I found out my good friend was having her Hen Do in Portugal, a country I visited back in 2013.

However, I decided to go and support her... ensure she had a good time, and I guess from the hangover and amazing pics she certainly did. In fact we all did. Fortunately for me we stayed in an area called Carcavelos, a little parish to the west of Lisbon. With an amazing beach and plenty of great restaurants I was pleased I decided to get involved.

Such a contrast from busy Lisbon, which I visited back in 2013... there was much to do and plenty to see.

Camo

'We don't need fashion to survive, we just desire it so much.'
- Marc Jacobs

So today I ditched the heels and went for something a little more casual, well not just a little... full on. Hey, not everyday high heels and mini skirts. I've always loved camouflage and decided to double up; with a gillet and trainers, I combined the pair with these great khaki ripped skinny jeans from Zara and a white bodysuit from Pretty Little Thing. I finished off the look with a faux leather clutch bag and this cool faux leather cap that I picked up in the ASOS sale. Looks like I'm ready for combat.

Delicate Pink

'You're never fully dressed without a smile.'
- Little Orphan Annie

The sun was out so I decided to finally wear my pink bodysuit... the bloggers favourite bodysuit of the season from Zara. I just love the design and print, and what's even better is that it is so versatile; from ripper jeans to mini skirts, it goes with just about anything. I decided to wear the bodysuit with a wrapped faux leather white skirt from Missguided, simple white heeled sandals and a perspex cross-body bag from New Look. Oh and how can I forget, my oversized sunglasses to keep out the bright Summer sun.

Oriental Leaf

'Style is primarily a matter of instinct.'

Although it is Summer the weather has been a little hit and miss this weekend. So I ditched the shorts and skirts, and put on some trousers. In fact I've been wanting to showcase this amazing bodysuit from Zara for a while... how beautiful is it?! The print, the colour... oh it's amazing. I decided to play on the colours; matching the bodysuit with dark orange trousers, a longline black sleeveless blazer, a simple cross body bag and these chic heels from Primark.

All White

I had been eyeing this matching top and skirt for a while (but in black) and it wasn't until I stumbled across a Instagram post by Fashion Bomb Daily that I decided to bite the bullet and purchase it. Much to my delight the set was on sale online... so I decided to go in store and try it on. Instantly I knew that the white set was more eye-catching and beautiful than the black... especially for the Summer.

I was actually going to wait to wear the set on holiday, but the weather is so nice in London right now that I thought I'd wear it at least once and introduce you all to my new found love. :-)   x

PICK OF THE WEEK: Zara Yellow Blouse

How amazing is this yellow blouse from Zara. It's part of the retailers new season collection, just one of the many items I've been eye-balling and contemplating purchasing. The model wears it with a pair of blue skinny jeans, but I can just imagine it being worn with so many different things, it's got a unique vibe about it and the fact that its yellow makes it even more desirable. No doubt it's going to be a big hit with Zara lovers and fashionistas across the globe. And at £25.99 it is definitely a bargain.

To get your hands on it visit your local store or hop onto the website.

Happy shopping!

Urban Blue

'Fashion somehow, for me, is purely and happily irrational.'
- Hedi Slimane

One of my favourite looks is a edgy urban outfit... where comfort meets style and that's exactly what I was going for with my latest outfit. I decided to team up a t-shirt dress with cute black ankle boots. A simple black faux leather clutch bag, a double choker and some blue make-up finished off the look. And there you have it...'Urban Blue'.
