Looking Back: June 2016

The month of June was a hectic one, I had so many events to attend, so much on at work and had to juggle all that with managing the blog. But as you know, this is my outlet to express one of the things I love most... fashion and style. So, of course I made the time to take some outfit photographs to share some outfit inspiration - true Rita style. In fact, although I was very busy I managed to capture 8 great outfits... a bit of a record for recent times.

This month I decided to incorporate lot of colour into my outfits, it's Summer so why not?! With items from the high-street and plenty of new shoes from the recent sales... I brought to you a little more variety than usual. In fact who would have thought I was brave enough to wear a full lace dress... yep, not even I did, but I done it... and I'm quite pleased with the finished look. It's actually spurred me on to be a little more adventurous with both colour and texture... and I intend to bring plenty of that to you this July. x

Right to Bare Shoulders

Off the shoulder tops are big on the scene at the moment and with the lovely weather it seemed like the perfect opportunity to bare the shoulders and soak up some sunshine. I've teamed up with some amazing fashion and style bloggers from across the globe; each with a great unique style and a love for fashion. From bold colours to monochrome, sleek silhouettes to loose layers, each blogger has put their stamp on the hit trend.

Tribal Red

'Fashion is what you're offered four times a year by designers. And style is what you choose.'
- Lauren Hutton

So this is my second instalment of the popular H&M print, previously I wore this shirt dress as just a shirt and teamed it with shorts and a crop top. Today, I decided to wear it as a dress, teaming it with my favourite wide tie belt and a floppy hat, for a more boho look. I finished off the look with simple jewellery and a suede cross body bucket bag.

Romantic Lace

'A fit, healthy body - that is the best fashion statement.'
- Jess C Scott

So I recently had a bit of fun and done a shopping haul on the SheIn website... oh my, there were so many bargains I just couldn't help myself. In fact, just yesterday I ordered another batch of things. I'm patiently waiting for them to arrive in the post... they'll definitely feature on the blog this coming July. And that's exactly where I got this little number from. Gorgeous isn't it? At just under £8 it's one hell of a steal. I teamed up the lace dress with some simple black undergarments (an old bralet come corset from Topshop, high-waisted cropped shorts from Debenhams), Leopard print heels and a matching mini clutch. I finished off the look with these chic cat-eyed sunglasses from River Island.

Aztec Geo

'Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them.'
- Marc Jacobs

So today I decided to make the most of the weekend and soak up the few hours of sunshine. I sported this H&M aztec combo and a black crop top from Boohoo.com. I finished of the look with a black suede cross body bag, cute criss cross ankle boots from  Public Desire and simple jewellery. Festival ready with no festival plans... oh well, at least it should inspire others.

PICK OF THE WEEK: ASOS Lace Organza Dress

It's wedding season, so I thought I'd bring you a selection of dresses over the next few weeks. Starting with the beautiful Mint organza dress from ASOS. At £85 you're sure to have heads turning in this number. It'll look great with either gold or silver accessories, shoes and bag... but if you want to keep things mute you can pair it with white. One thing for sure, you got to add a bit of edginess to let the dress really shine.

Happy Shopping!

Denim Frills

'When you love fashion, there is no weekend. Everything just blends together.'
- Carine Roitfeld

The weather is getting better, and I've been basking in the London sunshine. Who needs a vacation, when you can have a staycation for free?! Okay, that's a lie... it is nice to get away, but right now with this great weather I'm happy to be at home. I decided to keep things simple with this outfit, teaming up this cute little white top, with stonewash skinny jeans and a matching cluth bag. I finished off the look with pretty floral sandals and simple gold jewellery.
