Pink Paris

"You either know fashion or you don't."
- Anna Wintour

I never did stick to the rules or let the weather prevent me from wearing whatever it is I've wanted to wear. Long gone are the days of waking up in the morning and checking out the weather forecast online. These days I just pick whatever I want; if I'm feeling relaxed and care-free, it's a tee and jeans. If I'm feeling flirty, then a sexy dressy or a cute little skirt with killer heels. On this day I was feeling rather random, so a random outfit is what I went for.

I wanted to be comfy and chic at the same time, but I wanted my outfit to look well presented and somewhat matchy (yes, a new word of mine). I opted for a graphic print t-shirt from MissPap, a maxi faux fur coat from Boohoo and this fabulous fuchsia origami skirt from ASOS. I finished off the look with a black felt Beret from ASOS and killer heels from Zara (which are now available in the sale). Of course... as is now standard with all my outfits... I added a complementary shade of Mac lipstick to add the perfect last touch.

"Fashion is the amor to survive the reality of everyday life."
- Bill Cunningham

Now... I'm not saying there is anything wrong with wearing black, because I do and admittedly quite a lot. But there is something refreshing and mood lifting about wearing bright colours, especially during the colder months. With the grey clouds, the low temperatures and more often than not, rainy days, we all need that pick me up to get us through the miserable days. The perfect way to do so, well I find, is to bring the sunshine and warmth to my outfit.

I decided to brighten up an otherwise grey Winter January day with a multicoloured jumper dress, which I got online from Forever 21. I teamed up the dress with a wide brim fedora hat and pointed ankle boots, both from H&M and in cobalt blue, to match one of the sleeves of the dress. I finished off the look with this cute green cross body bag from Topshop (which is also available in other colours) and simple gold jewellery.

Gold MonaƩ

"Pure, intense emotions. It's not about design. It's about feelings."
- Alber Elbaz

Life can get hard sometimes, people become annoying, work becomes tiring and occasionally, your love life can seem non-existent or stagnate. Having the blog enables me to open up and express my most inner thoughts and desires, my true style (without conformity) through my outfits... how I dress  is often a reflection of how I feel. Deep, I know... but very true. Getting dressed and styling others, is my version of art.

The 'picture' I last painted exposed a well know obsession of mine. I guess you've just about realised that I've got an obsession with faux fur (or did you realise many posts ago?!). Yes, it is true, the obsession is real. Give me faux fur in any colour and I'll take it and put together an unforgettable and stylish outfit; its definitely one of my favourite textures to wear.

As much as I moan about the cold weather in London during the Autumn and Winter seasons... I just have to admit, I love the fashion of the time, particularly because I get to wear faux fur. I love layering and playing with different textures in a multitude of hues. Whilst I'm partial to wearing the odd black and white outfit, it was actually Janelle MonaĆ© who inspired this look. I've long admired the way she limits most of her outfits to black and white. Whilst I didn't try to copy one of her outfits, it definitely inspired me enough to create another outfit post for the blog.

So out came another faux fur piece, a gilet which I picked up from MissPap., gorgeous, isn't it? As of late I've been wearing a lot of colour, I thought I'd mix things up a little, with the absence of colour; so I decided to team the gilet with other black and white pieces. Not wanting to be predictable with a black or white bag, I opted for this chic gold bag, which I picked up from the festive period sales, from Michael Kors. I finished off the look with these cool monochrome boots from Zara and a black beret, from ASOS. Cool, chic and somewhat casual, was the look I was going for, and I think I may have just nailed it... If I can say so, myself.

Bold and Bright Winter

"I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet."
- Carrie Bradshaw

Who said you ave to wear boring clothes in Winter?! If anything, Winter is the perfect time to wear the most outrageous of outfits; bright colours, bold prints and a combination of textures. If people stare... you've done it right. It's dull and grey out there, that doesn't mean that your outfit has to follow suit.

As most of my friends and family know, I love wearing bright colours, I love standing out... I don't like blending in and looking like everyone else... how boring. Don't get me wrong, occasionally I wear neutral earthy colours (off course I jazz such outfits up), but more than anything, bright bold colours make me feel good and put me in a positive frame of mind.

Gucci SS 2011- Colour Blocking

So as another dull and miserable day showed is ugly face, I decide to wear this a bright and bold  outfit. I took my inspiration from Gucci's 2011 campaign, which saw models strut the catwalk in colour blocked outfits and gold. I particularly liked the orange and purple combinations and decided to use those colours for my outfit.

For ages I had been looking for the perfect bag to go with my Misguided orange jumper dress and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and detail of this stunner, which I found on the Miss Pap website. I decide to team up the combo with these fierce Indigo thing high boots, from Lotd.com.  To finish off the look I added simple gold jewellery and a bold purple lip, courtesy of Mac Cosmetics.

Inspiration V

"Fashion is what you're offered four times a year by designers. And style is what you choose."
- Lauren Hutton

So this is officially my first outfit post of the year, and keeping true to one of my New Year's resolutions I decided to put my all into the look. Gone are the days of featuring boring outfits; wearing things that don't stand out or inspire. 2018 is all about wearing what I want, when I want and only featuring what I love on my blog. In addition to that, I've started working with some new photographers... so you'll definitely see a lot of change in my content.

Forget hiding my tired eyes behind sunglasses, because I can't be bothered to put on some mascara, I'm in the process of learning to apply my own make-up and doing it well (yeah I know, by this age I should know... but to be honest I wasn't really interested before), so far I've mastered how to apply false lashes (my little sister Rebecca is quite proud, funnily enough she taught me...oh the shame) soon enough I'll be a pro at contouring too. It's time to look good from head to toe; hair on point, make-up glowing and clothes inspiring. Nothing is going to stop me this year. Last year I was distracted by things and even people (yep, I said it) that didn't matter, but I've let go and I'm moving on; forwards and upwards - for the better.

To kick of the new year I decided to feature an outfit that's inspired by one of my favourite designers;Versace...yes, hence the name of this post. I've long been a big fan, especially of the classic scarf/chain print that has for many years graced the catwalks. Recently I spotted Naomi Campbell in the new collection, black and yellow... my favourite colour combination, enough was enough - I had to get in on the action. When I spotted these Versace inspired trousers on MissPap about a week ago I knew exactly how I'd wear them, chic and sexy (I know I promised more casual and work wear outfits this year, and I'm sticking to my word, they are on the way, but first... let me feature one more sexy luxe look).

Okay... before I digress again, so I featured these trousers with a black double breasted blazer (I removed the belt it came with) and paired it with a quilted faux leather waist belt, which is also somewhat Versace inspired. To give my look a glam luxe vibe, well a rich Russian woman vibe, as I kept saying, I decided to throw some faux fur in the mix; with a headband that I got from eBay a year or so ago and this amazing black large stole. A  little gold clutch bag  (I picked up from the Mango sale a few days ago) and my favourite perspex heels, added the perfect touch. And of course, in true glam style, I finished off the look with bold red lipstick and a red manicure to match.

Watch out for more Versace inspired outfits coming soon.
