"Fashion should be a form of escapism, and not a form of imprisonment."
- Alexander McQueen
I couldn't agree more with Alexander McQueen, it's true; fashion should be a form of escapism and not a form of imprisonment. We should all have the ability to think for ourselves and therefore decide within ourselves what is best for us in every aspect of life, including, what it is we wear and how we portray ourselves to others. I'm all for expressing yourself in your fashion choices and that is exactly what I done with this outfit.
To be honest, and if you have been following my journey for a while, you'll realise I don't have a particular style. I'm always changing things up, whether it be my hair or the clothes and shoes I wear. I guess I just get bored easily and hate to appear predictable. I like to leave people wondering what I'm going to wear and how I'm going to style it. With me there are no rules, and if someone tries to promote or encourage rules, I always break them.
Hey, what's the fun in following fashion rules anyway. I see beauty in the unexpected. I'm the one who would like the dress that everyone would think is ugly or unflattering. I'm the one who would wear yellow with green, although they should apparently never be seen together. And yes, like with this outfit; I'm the one who would wear sexy black gold studded ankle boots, with simple laid back, overly basic jogging bottoms, or sweat pants (to my followers who live outside of the UK). I'm a rule breaker.
I decided I wanted a cool laid back but edgy look this time round. So I paired the unusual jogging bottoms and ankle boots combo with a cropped sweat top from Pretty Little Thing. I added a trendy camouflage anorak from Forever 21 and my oldie but goodie faux-leather clutch bag from Zara. The finishing touches, which I think brought the outfit together well, was black lipstick from Kiko Cosmetics, gold layered necklace from Pretty Little Thing and black and gold sunglasses from Topshop.
Now if this outfit isn't breaking the rules, I don't know what is.

Who said you ave to wear boring clothes in Winter?! If anything, Winter is the perfect time to wear the most outrageous of outfits; bright colours, bold prints and a combination of textures. If people stare... you've done it right. It's dull and grey out there, that doesn't mean that your outfit has to follow suit.
As most of my friends and family know, I love wearing bright colours, I love standing out... I don't like blending in and looking like everyone else... how boring. Don't get me wrong, occasionally I wear neutral earthy colours (off course I jazz such outfits up), but more than anything, bright bold colours make me feel good and put me in a positive frame of mind.
Gucci SS 2011- Colour Blocking
So as another dull and miserable day showed is ugly face, I decide to wear this a bright and bold outfit. I took my inspiration from Gucci's 2011 campaign, which saw models strut the catwalk in colour blocked outfits and gold. I particularly liked the orange and purple combinations and decided to use those colours for my outfit.
For ages I had been looking for the perfect bag to go with my Misguided orange jumper dress and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and detail of this stunner, which I found on the Miss Pap website. I decide to team up the combo with these fierce Indigo thing high boots, from Lotd.com. To finish off the look I added simple gold jewellery and a bold purple lip, courtesy of Mac Cosmetics.

So with all the colourful outfits I've been featuring of late, I thought I'd change things up a bit... bring you something a little more muted, but stylish enough to pack a punch. Continuing with my love for faux fur, I decided to team up this cool faux fur bomber jacket from Zara, with a simple grey wrap dress from H&M (old). To give the outfit a bit of an edgy yet mysterious look, I added this black and faux leather fedora hat from River Island (sold out, but alternative here), cool H&M point perspex heels (old) and finished the look off with my favourite Michael Koors arm candy.

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that every Sunday I feature my five favourite outfits of the week on my Insta Stories; from fashion-forward bloggers to savvy fashion designers and more. A few weeks ago I featured Angela B (@luvangelamarie... check her out!) in what I can only describe as the perfect outfit... blue jeans, a sheer black dress and a pin-stripped double breasted blazer. The finishing touches were cool sunglasses and black perspex heeled mules. I was so in love with the outfit (as I am with many of her outfits) I was inspired to create a look of my own.
Sometimes, just sometimes... you have to mix the old with the new to create amazing outfits, and that's exactly what I done with this outfit. Hey, come on, who has money to always have completely new outfits? ha, not me (I wish). Actually, to be honest, there are many things that I've had for years, that I just love to keep featuring, because they're timeless classics. Like these sassy heels.
I've been wanting to feature these amazing heels from Office Shoes (that I bought quite a few years ago) on the blog for some time now, and finally I found the perfect outfit to pair it with (thanks to Angela inspiring me). I teamed up the heels with a bright pink cropped jacket from Mango, a lace dress from Shein and some tailored trousers from Zara. I finished off the look with chic sunglasses, bold gold jewellery and a black and gold cross-body bag.

There's no other style I love dressing in more than 'casual cool'. Forget the sexy revealing outfits, or the smart work-wear, it's all about dressing casual and looking cool. Being able to get dressed up and take my look from day to night, is the biggest advantage of dressing casual cool. A pair of heels can dress up what would have been a rather laid back outfit, a casual outfit. The shoes and accessories, in combination with the make-up and hairstyle is what adds the cool to my otherwise simply casual outfit.
Here I decided to team up this long-line vest top from Zara (that I bought before my three month shopping ban, don't worry it is still available in store to buy in the sale), vest a faux leather mini skirt, faux leather clutch bag and barely-there platform perspex heeled sandals from Forever 21 (alternatives here and here). I finished off the look with cool black sunglasses from Topshop and this cute watch (that I've been wearing a lot recently) from Abbot Lyon.

"I always feel that if you're gonna be uncomfortable and unhappy in something, just because you think it's in or it's chic, I would advise you to be happy rather than well dressed. It's better to be happy."
- Iris Apfel
Recently a friend of mine passed away, before her time and it got me thinking... reflecting... it changed my mindset, on almost everything. Make the most of today, for tomorrow is not promised. Forget about what people think of you and do what makes you happy. If you're not hurting anyone, well then, what's the problem?! Life is for living and enjoying, making the most of each day and doing what you love. And that's how I intend to live the rest of my life; making the most of my blessings and seizing opportunities that will better me and those I hold dear.
What's the point in having amazing clothes hanging in your wardrobe gathering dust, what are you waiting for? If putting on those 5 inch heels and amazing mini skirt make you feel good, wear it whenever you want. If you want to dye your hair purple and are scared of what others think, forget them, be brave and go for it. I've always been told I over-dress and you know what, I love it. I don't want to look like everyone else, I love being the odd one out, having my own style... some people may love it and some may dislike it, but hey, that's me and I'm not sorry.
'Treble' is the fourth of my six outfits from my current look-book; 'Love Denim'. The look is all about being comfortable in my own skin, embracing my curves, my blessings and what others would call my flaws. Showing that I'm not afraid to be me and I don't care what others think; I wear what I want, when I want, to where I want. Today I feel sexy, so I wore this denim wrapped dress from Pretty Little Thing (sold out, alternatives here and here), Longline Denim Jacket from Misspap and this cure blue cross body bag from Shein. I finished off the look with my favourite perspex heeled sandals from Public Desire. Who said double denim was a fashion faux pas? The more denim the better!

'Ties' is the second of my five outfits from my latest look book "Love Denim'. As my shopping ban continues, I decided to feature some pieces that have already made an appearance on the blog, but the look can still be achieved with similar pieces available on the high-street.
A few months ago I bought a striped shirt from Zara, a multi way shirt, that can be worn in a number of ways to achieve different looks. I was such a fan of the arms tied to the front look, I decided to go for the same look with my oversized denim shirt (similar here). I teamed up my shirt with a denim look midi pencil skirt (alternative here), Burgundy Converse and a cross body bag (similar here) in the same hue, to match my new hair colour. I finished off the look with oversized sunglasses and Barry M Cosmetics denim coloured nail polish, a little extra something.
