Looking Back: July 2016

I had such a fun time in July; shooting outfits with such a wide range of colours and textures. I tried to incorporate all of my favourite colours and combinations into my looks, from monochrome to full on red... I didn't hold back. In fact if I had more time I would have definitely included a little green and purple in there, hey, maybe next time.

As July tends to be a warm period I was able to experiment with a variety of lengths and materials, and luckily the lack of rain meant that I could wear some amazing heeled sandals, showing off my pretty matching manicures and pedicures.

I'm looking forward to August, which is usually the warmest month of the year in the UK. I'm hoping to bring you more in the way of variety of colour and unusual style, I've definitely got some jaw dropping outfits up my sleeve and some stunning pieces that will blow your mind. I think the best is certainly to come and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Tan Lines

'The joy of dressing is an art.'
- John Galliano

I couldn't remember whether it was vertical or horizontal stripes that are supposed to be flattering, but that went out the window when I spotted this shirt on boohoo.com a few weeks ago. I loved it so much I just had to purchase it. To my delight it went well with my mini skirt from the recent Zara sale, my favourite MK bag and these cute fringed tan sandals from New Look. I finished off the look with cool oversized sunglasses and simple gold jewellery.

Denim & Camel

'Clothes are like a good meal, a good movie, great pieces of music.'
Michael Kors

If you've been following my blog for a while you'll know I love to sport double denim, in fact the more denim the better. Gone are the days when double denim was seen to be a fashion faux pas. This time round I decided to combine my love of double denim with camel, in the form of the deep V bodysuit and ankle strap heeled sandals. I finished off the outfit with a little more denim; a denim clutch bag and simple gold jewellery.

Lady in Red

'In a machine age, dressmaking is on of the last refuges of the human, the personal, the inimitable.'
- Christian Dior

I'm loving the weather in London at the moment; the sun is shinning and the temperature is bliss. It means that I get to wear more of my Summer frocks and don't have to wait until I go abroad. Today I wore a simple red vest dress from Zara, with gold accessories and jewellery and a quilted bag to tie everything together. There's something rather sexy and somewhat mysterious about a lady in a red dress... every time I wear one I feel good and over the years I've realised I don't need to add much to an outfit with a red dress to turn heads. However, if you want to make the look a little more casual, I'd ditch the heels for a pair of Converse All Stars.

Long live this beautiful weather...

70's Boho

'In this bright future you can't forget your past.'
- Bob Marley

So the weather is warming up in London and I'm absolutely loving it... hopefully it stays for more than just a few days, because I've got so many little Summer outfits I just can't wait to show you. First up is this ensemble from H&M... I call the look '70s Boho' purely because of the tie-dye wide leg trousers. How cool are they? and a bonus is they're in one of my favourite colours.

With this look I decided to keep the focus on the trousers, teaming them up with a ribbed one shoulder cream top, tan and gold sandals, a tan cross body mini bag and chunky gold jewellery. And there you have it...

Styling: Orange meets Lace

So today I was on the other side of the camera, taking photos of the beautiful Nikki. With her look we went for a chic ensemble, teaming much loved lace (pencil skirt) with an on trend off the shoulder top. However, I decided to spice things up a little; instead of going for white or black (traditional colours when wearing lace), I decided to go for a Summer favourite... Orange. The cute ribbed off the shoulder top was a steal from the Missguided sale, and if I remember correctly cost less than £5 (sold out, but similar here)! The skirt was also on sale from ASOS (available here). We finished off the look with minimal gold jewellery, simple white heels and a gold cross body bag (both, stylist's own).

Blushing Rose

'Fashion should be a form of escapism, and not a form of imprisonment.'
- Alexander McQueen

I haven't tired of this hue, this beautiful shade of pink known as blush. Today I decided to team it up with Rose, sporting a deep cut bodysuit (available here) and a faux leather wrap skirt (available here). I added a matching suede over-sized clutch bag (available here) and metallic heels.
