Blue Snake

'Don't be into trends. Don't make fashion own you, but you decide what you are.'
- Gianni Versace

I'm a shopping addict, I must admit. Not a week passes without me ordering something online or going to my favourite store to see what's new. Admittedly my intention isn't always to buy something, but I just can't help myself when I see something that will go well with things I already own. And that's exactly what happened when I spotted these ankle boots on Public Desire.

I've long been a fan of snake print and when I saw these ankle boots online I just knew it would look great with quite a few things that I own, including my snake print mac from Mango, which I purchased over a year ago. So I decided to team the two together in an outfit post and jazzed up the look with a splash of colour.

Now, not all that I'm wearing is new; as I'm learning to recycle things I already own and have hardly worn. But Should you wish to achieve this look, there's plenty of similar pieces on the high street right now. Pretty Little thing have a gorgeous snake print duster (www.prettylittlething.com), you can find a similar cobalt hat on eBay (www.ebay.co.uk) and Fiorelli also do a lovely cobalt bag (www.jdwilliams.co.uk). You can find the rest of the outfit, the same pieces online and in store now.

Happy shopping!

Warm Khaki Green

'I always find beauty in things that are odd and imperfect. They are much more interesting.'
- Marc Jacobs

January is probably the coldest month of the year, over here in London, United Kingdom. So it's only right that I inspire you (hopefully) with a few more Winter looks. And here is one. I'm wearing my cool gold ankle boots again, but this time with this amazing khaki faux fur gilet from my favourite store, Zara. I kept everything else simple, wearing a black top and faded black skinny jeans. I finished off the look with a simple black bag, chic sunglasses to block out the Winter sun and this gorgeous wood watch from Jord.

Oh Silver

'You gotta have style. It helps you get down the stairs. It helps you get up in the morning. It's a way of life. Without it, you're nobody.'
- Diana Vreeland

Continuing with the metallic theme, today I decided to wear Silver. I recently visited the newly opened Missguided store in Westfield Stratford and was amazed and pleasantly surpirsed. All the items I had longed for that were sold out online, were available in store... to be honest, I got a little bit excited and had a little splurge. I picked out this coo silver bodysuit and sold out silver sock ankle boots. I teamed the pair with a mini skirt from Zara, simple large clutch from Sunny Beach at ASOS and finished with a black duster from Boohoo.

Baroque

'I really need new clothes.'
- Me, every morning.

The new year is finally here and with it comes a new outfit. I decided to wear one of, in not, my favourite colour combinations to enter the new year... black and gold. I got this amazing jumper dress from the Missguided sale in late December and teamed it up with this amazing gold leather ankle boots from Mango. I finished off the look with chic Versace sunglasses and a cute little cross body bag from Zara.

A Look Back at 2016

Well what can I say, where should I start? I think the older I get the quicker the year passes by... It feels like just the other day we were celebrating the start of 2016 and with the blink of an eye the year has come and gone. Or maybe it's true what they say; 'time flies when your having fun' and fun is what I had for sure. From sun bathing on the beach in Portugal, to partying all night in Bulgaria and so many more amazing experiences I encountered in 2106. The year was definitely one I'd never forget; and for more positive reasons than negative.

But all the fun stuff aside, this year I learned a lot about myself and what I want from life. I decided to stop caring about what people thought of my life and the choices I've made and concentrate on finding true happiness in all aspects of my life; work, love, family... and of course fashion. I'm living life for me and not to please others, and more importantly, although I already knew, I decided to act on the fact that MY happiness is dependant on me and not on others. I don't need validation or acceptance in order to do what I want or need to do. I don't need approval or acknowledgement on social media. If it makes me happy and it's not harming others, then hey, why not?!

This is the approach I took with my outfits. Who cares what people think of what you're wearing, if you like it and you feel good in it, then wear it... because people will always have something to say; good or bad. In 2016 I wore some racy outfits, the kind of outfits people would say "where does she think she's going in that?", I also wore some funky outfits, which people probably thought was 'over the top' or not 'fashionable'... but it didn't faze me, because I felt good and confident. And this all ties in with my Style new years resolution... I'm calling it my 'Stylution' lol.

My stylution for 2017 is to be more adventurous and less pleasing. Crazy colour combinations that don't usually go (or so people may say), clashing prints, crazy hair colours, daring dresses and show-stopping shoes. My aim... too inspire others to wear what they want and with confidence. To stick two fingers up to critics and say I don't give a damn if this is trendy or not, and above all be true to their own unique individual style. If I only manage to inspire one person, at least I inspired one, who could potentially inspire many others... and then my job (for 2017, fashion wise) is complete.

So be on the lookout for a lot more Rita style this year and less conforming. Because hey, dressing like everyone else is boring.

Happy New Year!

A special thank you to all my photographers throughout the year, without you this all couldn't be possible:
