Everyday Monochrome

"If you can't be better than your competition, just dress better."
- Anna Wintour

Today was very cold day, the perfect opportunity for me to get out my faux fur Zara gilet and leather trimmed fedora hat. I decided to keep things simple, with a black thin knit jumper and my favourite black Levi jeans (I really should do a review, they're amazing). I dressed up the look a little with a statement necklace and my every day Michael Kors gold jewellery and structured bag.

Military

"In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different."
- Coco Chanel

These have got to be my favourite trousers, not only are they comfortable and stylish they are in this seasons it colour... Khaki. I went for a transitional look, a little Winter and a little Spring; teaming this over-sized coat with a polo crop top and white ankle strap sandals. The fringed snake skin clutch makes the perfect finishing touch, bringing together the shades off the outfit.

Chic Mono

"Walk like you have three men walking behind you."
- Oscar de la Renta

One of my favourite looks is monochrome, I just can't get enough of the timeless trend. I've had this skirt for a while and it was recently in the Zara sale... finally I decided to feature it on the blog. I decided to team it up with this chic cape, over the knee boots and floppy hat - for a 70s inspired look but with a twist. I kept my jewellery to a minimal sporting simple gold pieces.

PICK OF THE WEEK: Monochrome Flare Dress (Boohoo.com)

I really like the shape of this dress, it reminds me of one of Victoria Beckham's pasts designs. So simple and elegant, in timeless monochrome this dress can be teamed with black tights and courts for the office or paired with red heels and matching lipstick for a night out on the town. Either way it's a definite head turner - for all the right reasons. To get your hands on this dress for a mere £22 visit the Boohoo.com website.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Top-Zip Tote

As you may have noticed from past post I'm a big fan of Michael Kors, I own jewellery, watches, bags and purses designed by the talented designer. Not only are MK merchandise fashionable and good quality, they're affordable! I'd been wanting red casual bag for a while but hadn't spotted anything online or on the high-street. So as you can guess I was delighted when I was gifted this Claret coloured Jet Set Saffiano Leather Top-Zip Tote for my birthday.

I thought I'd leave it a couple of weeks, get a bit of use out of my new bag before writing a review about it, to tell you just how much I love it and lists all the reasons why you need to get it. So here goes...

The bag boasts an ideal size for everyday use. It can be worn casually or formally. So far I've worn it mainly to the office. Though not as structured as the Selma, it is just as practical and attractive.

Width 16.5" Height 10" Depth 5.5"

The bag is made of Saffiano Leather, grained leather that has been tanned. The rough cross hatch leather makes it fairly resistant to scratches and keeps it looking new for long. I've also realised that this type of leather copes better with the elements that other types of leather, especially in wet conditions.

One of the things I really liked about this bag is that it has a zip. MK also has another bag exactly the same but without a zip - a deal breaker for someone as it's not secure. This bag is much more secure than it's sister bag and a tad more stylish.

As with most MK bags, you can get the bag with gold or silver hardwear and logo. Of course gold is my colour and I think it looks stunning against the richness of the claret tone. The bag features several bits of hardwear; one logo charm, the brand name and the buckles to hold the two 8 inch drop thin straps.

The interior of the bag is lined with MK monogram material, for the claret coloured bag this is sort of creamy champagne colour. It also features a zipped pocket and four open pockets, suitable for mobile phones and other small items. The helpful key fob ensures you never have to struggle to find your keys amongst the masses in your bag.

The bag comes in a variety of colours; Claret, Cream, Tan, Navy, Nickel, Pale Gold and Pale Grey. Unfortunately, for those in the United Kingdom not all colours are available in store. However, along with those in the United States, you can order the bag in whatever colour you fancy from the Macys website (here).

Snowflake

"I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet."
- Carrie Bradshaw

It was freezing outside in London and it started to rain, so I wasn't the most relaxed when taking these photos and I didn't manage to get much done. But I thought I'd show you the photos anyway, as I love the outfit so much. I originally took the photos at the end of December, so as you can see they appear in my previous post 'A Look Back at 2014', but I never actually got to blog the post... So here it is...

I decided to showcase what I wore to my work Christmas party, what I call 'Snowflake'. I love the glisten from this sequined skirt teamed up with this amazing peplum top, together they look like a dress. The navy fur, gold shoes and jewellery add some colour, whilst the bag brings the colours of the outfit together nicely.
