PRODUCT REVIEW: Topshop Monti Cutout Ankle Boots

I love Topshop and even more so since purchasing my lovely boots a few weeks back. I'd been looking for flat ankle boots for a while and couldn't find any that what go with a multitude of trends, and then I spotted these in my local store. I'm so happy I bought them, a purchase I don't regret.

The style of the boot is very simple, sort of like a Chelsea style boot, but with a cutout design and the addition of a strap and lovely gold buckle. The fact that the design is so simple allows it to be worn with all different kinds of looks, the boot is very versatile. And of course like I've stated in previous posts I'm a fan of gold, so the inclusion of the gold buckle was definitely the icing on the cake.

Being flat the boots are extremely comfortable and have a nice fit. They're neither wide nor narrow, in fact they fit really well. The one thing I would suggest is going to the store to try on the boots before you buy them, that is if you were considering buying them online. I found the boots to be a tad big, my usual size is a 4.5 or 5, with these boots I had to get a size 4 and they're still a little spacious, but this is fine if you intend on wearing socks with them.

Of late when buying leather boots you're destined to spend quite a bit of money, so I was pleasantly surprised with the £45 price tag, what a bargain!! I'm so happy and in love with these boots and how they look great with almost everything from midi skirts to skinny jeans, I've even sported them to work plenty of times since getting them as they look great with both casual wear and smart wear. I particularly like the way they look when teamed with my Topshop Leigh skinny jeans (check out review here) and a blazer.

Another thing I quite like about these boots is that you can adjust the fit around your ankle via the strap. So if you have small or wider ankles you can adjust the strap accordingly, which improves the comfort of an already very comfortable boot.

The sole of a boot has a little grip to it, so don't worry there shouldn't be much slipping and sliding in these boots. However, I'm yet to wear them in extreme winter weather conditions. I think if the boot had any more grip it would change the appearance of the boot and perhaps make it look more casual.

Overall I would definitely recommend these boots, they're comfortable, good quality being genuine leather and very friendly on the purse!

PRODUCT REVIEW: New Look Biker Boots

When I saw these boots in New Look recently I knew I had to get them, not only did they look super cool and trendy they looked so comfortable and versatile. Over the last few months I spotted a lot of people wearing ankle biker boots and loved the way they dressed them up with floral dresses in Summer and leggings and long length knitted jumpers as the weather has gotten colder. I've always wanted a pair of my own, but couldn't seem to find anything that shouted 'buy me', that was of course until I spotted these.

I love wearing these boots when I'm going for the grunge trend, with ripped jeans a checked shirt, leather vest and a crop top (just to add a feminine touch), the look is very TLC 1990s.

Being real leather the boots are somewhat a bargain at £59.99, but then New Look tend to offer an amazing range of footwear at very affordable prices, so I was not surprised when I saw the price. Most real leather biker boots cost much more, so I was happy that I found a pair I really like that wouldn't harm my purse.

I love the gold detail on the boots, the buckles and the zip, I didn't want biker boots with silver details, because I'm a lover of all things gold. To be honest a lot of the biker boots out there have gold detail, which makes a pleasant change from previous seasons.

When trying the boots on I found that they came up quite big. I usually wear a four or five in boots, it depends on the style of the boot and where they are from. With New Look I find that their shoes come up a little big so I went for the size 4 (EUR 37) and they fit perfectly. They're definitely shoes I'd advise trying on in store prior to purchasing.

Though the shoes are practically flat with a very low heel, they're a little narrow at the front. So if you have wide feet you may want to give these boots a miss. If you have narrow feet these boots are perfect for you and if you have normal width feet you may want to consider getting some shoes trees to stretch the front out a little before wearing them out and about.

The leg of the boot is quite wide, so if you've got particularly slim legs there'll be quite a bit of space, which isn't a bad thing... that's the look of the boot. For ladies with bigger legs the boots will be a little tighter on you, though in my opinion I think it looks great like this. They definitely work for ladies of all sizes!

I would recommend these boots as they look great, are purse friendly and very on trend.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Primark Platform Buckled Boots

Ever since buying my monochrome heels from Primark (see review here), I decided to drop the idea that cheap shoes are not as good as expensive shoes. Primark have done it again, they've won me over with these Rock Chic sky high biker boots.

I’m definitely a fan of the rock chic look, sporting it season after season and these boots certainly polish up many of my rock chic outfits. I love wearing these boots with leggings and oversized printed t-shirts, but even more with my leather shorts and denim shirt.

Though high, the heel on these boots is very chunky and in addition with the platform at the front of the boot makes for a very comfortable wear. Honestly, I wore them for hours on end at the Bruno Mars concert and remained comfortable the entire time, actually they're even more comfortable than some shoes I own with a much lower heel.

The front of the boot is not at all narrow, in fact the width is quite generous, so no need to worry about it pinching on your baby toes. This is ideal for ladies who have normal to wide feet, those with narrow feet may want to try them on before they consider making a purchase.

The sole of the boot is rather smooth and barely has any grip, so I wouldn't advise wearing them in bad weather conditions or on slippery surfaces. However, saying that the sole fits the sleek look of the boot and I can't imagine that it would look better with any other sole.

The boots are adorned with gold; gold buckles and a gold zip, which make the  boots look much more expensive than they actually are. Whilst I'd always opt for gold, black buckles and zips may have also complemented the boots well, however, I think silver would have made the boots look cheap.

I'd definitely recommend these boots, they look great, they're purse friendly and extremely comfortable.

Winter Boots: Biker Girl

So as the winter months dawn upon us, I decided to do a post on an essential for the troublesome weather... Boots. As the weather gets colder, we must wrap up to keep warm.. but no one said that wrapping up can't be fashionable. In fact I find winter the season I dress the best. I love piling on contrasting materials of both clashing and complimentary colours. Add the finishing touches, some sexy or funky boots.

On a recent shopping trip I came home with three pair of boots, all black all with gold buckles but all very different in style. Though all variants of the well known Biker Boot, I find they work well with a variety of trends and so have decided to write a review for each. So look out for separate reviews on each throughout the following few days.

Here's a sneak peak of my new 'babies'.

I'm really loving the biker boot trend that is going on right now. Here are a few more variants on the high street and online that I quite like:
