Pretty Bow

"People say, 'What do you mean you want to help the world, but you're so concerned about fashion?' It's illegal to be naked. It is something that is extremely important."
- Kanye West

So here it is, my final outfit from my 'Love Denim' look-book. As I come to the end of my shopping ban, I thought I'd bring the look-book to an end with 'oldish' clothes... things that I purchased prior to the start of the ban. Don't worry as soon as this ban is over, I'll be back to shopping (albeit sensibly) and with plenty of new outfits you can actually buy.

I teamed up this frill detailed denim mini skirt from Zara (alternative here, here and here)with a white cold shoulder bow detailed blouse from ASOS (sold out, similar here). I finished off the look with a plain denim clutch from Forever 21 and Baroque barely there heeled sandals from Shein.

Tropical Denim

"Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them."
- Marc Jacobs

Am I the only one thankful for the blessing of Shein.com?! Damn, so many bargains on one website, it's amazing, I tell you. Ever since I ordered this leaf shaped clutch bag from Forever 21 months ago, I've been obsessed with all things tropical, so much so that I done an entire look-book with the theme. So, when I spotted this off shoulder top on the Shein website (see here) a few months ago, I knew I had to get it. To be honest, I was saving it for my forthcoming holiday, but the weather was so nice in London, I decided to seize the opportunity and feature it on the blog... way ahead of schedule.

I teamed up the amazing top with ripped jeans from reliable Topshop, of course my Forever 21 leaf shaped bag (sold out), white heeled sandals from Boohoo (alternatives here) and a denim look scarf that I worse as a head wrap. I finished off the look with a little deep red lipstick and some cool round sunglasses from Primark.

Treble

"I always feel that if you're gonna be uncomfortable and unhappy in something, just because you think it's in or it's chic, I would advise you to be happy rather than well dressed. It's better to be happy."
- Iris Apfel

Recently a friend of mine passed away, before her time and it got me thinking... reflecting... it changed my mindset, on almost everything. Make the most of today, for tomorrow is not promised. Forget about what people think of you and do what makes you happy. If you're not hurting anyone, well then, what's the problem?! Life is for living and enjoying, making the most of each day and doing what you love. And that's how I intend to live the rest of my life; making the most of my blessings and seizing opportunities that will better me and those I hold dear.

What's the point in having amazing clothes hanging in your wardrobe gathering dust, what are you waiting for? If putting on those 5 inch heels and amazing mini skirt make you feel good, wear it whenever you want. If you want to dye your hair purple and are scared of what others think, forget them, be brave and go for it. I've always been told I over-dress and you know what, I love it. I don't want to look like everyone else, I love being the odd one out, having my own style... some people may love it and some may dislike it, but hey, that's me and I'm not sorry.

'Treble' is the fourth of my six outfits from my current look-book; 'Love Denim'. The look is all about being comfortable in my own skin, embracing my curves, my blessings and what others would call my flaws. Showing that I'm not afraid to be me and I don't care what others think; I wear what I want, when I want, to where I want. Today I feel sexy, so I wore this denim wrapped dress from Pretty Little Thing (sold out, alternatives here and here), Longline Denim Jacket from Misspap and this cure blue cross body bag from Shein. I finished off the look with my favourite perspex heeled sandals from Public Desire. Who said double denim was a fashion faux pas? The more denim the better!

African Genes

"You gotta have style. It helps you get down the stairs. It helps you get up in the morning. It's a way of life. Without it, you're nobody."
- Diana Vreeland

So this is outfit number three of my Love Denim look-book, this time I decided to embrace my roots, my African roots. What was once a denim look scarf from Zara, was used to create a head scarf, which tied in the different tones of my denim outfit. This long skirt, admittedly an unusual length for me, was bought from Forever 21 last year (alternative here), and as well as being featured for the first time, is being worn for the first time. I decided to pair the long line skirt with my belted denim jacket from ASOS (sold out), cute tan heeled sandals (alternative here and here) and my cute matching Michael Kors cross body bag (larger size here). Not every day westernised ensembles.

Ties

"Fashion is the only attempt to realise art in living forms and social intercourse."
- Sir Francis Bacon

'Ties' is the second of my five outfits from my latest look book "Love Denim'. As my shopping ban continues, I decided to feature some pieces that have already made an appearance on the blog, but the look can still be achieved with similar pieces available on the high-street.

A few months ago I bought a striped shirt from Zara, a multi way shirt, that can be worn in a number of ways to achieve different looks. I was such a fan of the arms tied to the front look, I decided to go for the same look with my oversized denim shirt (similar here). I teamed up my shirt with a denim look midi pencil skirt (alternative here), Burgundy Converse and a cross body bag (similar here) in the same hue, to match my new hair colour. I finished off the look with oversized sunglasses and Barry M Cosmetics denim coloured nail polish, a little extra something.

Never Enough Denim

"Fashion has to reflect who you are, what you feel at the moment, and where you're going."
- Pharrell Williams

'Never Enough Denim' is the first of my 5 outfits from my 'Love Denim' look book, where I'll bring you many more outfits, with much more than just a dose double denim. With this outfit, I finally decided to wear this midi denim pencil dress from Boohoo (alternative here). I teamed up the dress with a longline denim jacket from Misspap (sold out, but many alternatives here), a denim clutch bag from Forever 21 (sold out) and perspex heels from Public Desire. A dash of red lipstick and a denim scarf finish off the sassy look.

Neutral Monochrome

"We must never confuse elegance with snobbery."
-Yves Saint Laurent

So Neutral Monochrome marks the very last of my outfits from my look-book of the exact same name; Neutral Monochrome. The look-book saw me bring together 5 sexy but smart outfits, in three colours;  Camel, Black and White. From deep plunge necklines to little black dresses, I opted for a variety of cuts and styles, all with the intention to inspire, and of course with all my old clothes.

Yep, the three month shopping ban is still on, so this outfit doesn't have a single item from the current season collection in store or online. However, I made sure to include links to similar pieces, so you can once again achieve this look. I opted for a plunge camel bodysuit from Pretty Little Thing (similar here), teamed it up with white tailored trousers (alternative here) and a smart sleeveless vest (similar here), both from Zara. I finished off the look with my signature Versace sunglasses and cool pointed courts which have a sexy perspex heel, from H&M.

Werk Chic

"When you hear designers complaining of the challenge of their profession, you have to say; don't get carried away,  it's only dresses."
- Karl Lagerfeld

You can never go wrong with a LBD (little black dress), and I absolutely love this choker deep cut number from Zara (sold out, similar here and here). I wanted to keep my look sleek and simple, so I stuck with all black; teaming up my dress with stay heeled sandals from ASOS (sold out) and my favourite black bag from Michael Kors. I finished off the look with bold pink lipstick and diva sunglasses from Versace
