Today I'm Wearing: To Work

Well it was the hottest day of the year (on Wednesday) so far and I wasn't quite sure what to wear to the office, I needed to be cool but not exposed whilst looking somewhat professional. I decided to go for a White Peplum top and Green Tube skirt, both from Topshop, Cobalt Blue Bowling bag from Zara and White Buckled Sandals from Fashion Union.

I love colour blocking and think blue and green look great together, so decided to team the skirt with the bag. The inclusion of white into the outfit added a fresh summer look.

If you like my look, 'love my look' on the Today I'm Wearing website, where you can view more of my everyday outfits.

Zara Blue Bag

If you haven't figured it out from my previous posts, I love Zara. In fact I love Zara even more since purchasing my new cobalt blue bag, it has been a God send! When I went to Oxford street a few weeks back I wasn't actually looking for anything in particular, but then a flash of blue caught my eye, there it was the last one, my cobalt blue bowling bag waiting for me to take it home. I couldn't leave the shop without it, I had to get it otherwise I would spend forever regretting it, or at least until I found another eye catching bag to take my mind of it. At £39.99 it was a bargain I couldn't ignore.

When I saw the bag i knew it would go well with so many different outfits, so many different colours, though it's bright and bold it goes with just about everything. I love wearing the bag with monochrome, but most of all I love wearing it with green. Blue and green go amazingly well together, especially cobalt blue and grass green. I think the bag looks amazing with my Zara grass green top and gold jewellery, it gave my otherwise plain outfit a kick.

Outfit - Bag and Top Zara, Ankle Boots Miss Selfridge, Jeans Topshop, Watch Michael Kors, Necklace Vintage, Sunglasses Moschino, Leather Jacket Cuero, Ring Forever21.

The bag is part of the Zara Basic range, so that means it's an affordable price (£39.99). The lining is made out of linen and polyester, whilst it doesn't look bad and most of the bags in the basic range have a similar lining, it would have looked better with a thicker material in a contrasting bold colour.

The bag is structured and quite large in size, so it can fit all your daily essential plus much more, I even managed to fit a pair of shoes in there! I was so happy that the zips were gold as oppose to silver as it made the bag look more expensive and made complemented the rich blue. The zips also open wide, which means easy access.

The bag also comes with a shoulder strap, so if you're lugging around a lot of bags instead of holding the bag like you would a typical bowling bag you can throw the strap on your shoulder, though I myself prefer to hold the bag.

To get your hands on this beauty check out the Zara website or visit your local store.

For the Love of Denim

Oh I love denim, can't live without it. Whether it's skinny jeans (check out my post on Topshop Leigh Skinny Jeans) or a denim shirt, every season without fail I'm sporting something denim. It's just one of those materials, trends, looks that never goes out of fashion, definitely a wardrobe staple!

Though I've always loved wearing denim, I've never been a big fan of wearing double denim, yep that's denim from head to toe. I'm not saying I hated it, it was just one of those trends that never excited me. Then I saw a photo of Rihanna (whose looks I always love) looking sexy in double denim; a low buttoned denim shirt and a ripped denim skirt, she looked amazing!! She showed that denim can be sexy and casual at the same time. That's where my love for double even triple head to toe denim started.

 Rihanna

I started to notice more and more celebrities donning denim, some head to toe and some donning staple pieces. I particularly love denim hot pants, but with the miserable weather in the UK there's barely an opportunity to wear the pin displaying shorts. Though I must admit they look quite nice with black opaque tights, a rock shirt and leather biker jacket... I really do love that look.
L-R: Jourdan Dunn, Kelly Rowland, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Frankie Sandford, Mollie King & Jessie J.

There are some great pieces on the high street right now, so many it was hard for me to narrow it down to my favourite 10. Here's some different denim garments that I'm loving right now:

Cheap Monday

Motel

River Island

ASOS

The Ragged Priest

Warehouse

Diesel

River Island

ASOS

Hilfiger

I really do love dressing up denim, whether it is to make it look funky, sexy or retro and my favourite way of doing it is by pairing my denim outfit with some amazing shoes; whether they be a bold colour, funky design or have a sexy killer heel. Here are a few I'd definitely team up with a denim outfit:

Clockwise: JuJu Vicky, ASOS, Senso Xixi and Aldo

CELEB WATCH: Rihanna

Sexy feisty and wild, Robyn Rihanna Fenty lives the life many of us could only dream of. With drop dead gorgeous men after her, an amazing wardrobe of killer heels and sexy frocks, Rihanna is that girl we either envy or want to be best friends with. The 25 year old Bajan singer first emerged on to the scene in 2005 releasing her début single Pon de Replay

Back then young Rihanna came across as a cool and fun loving Island chick, but with the continuing success of her career, the new celebrity friends and growing confidence, we all became aware that she was not just a cool and fun loving Island chick, she's a sexy, controversial, don't give a damn young woman. She does what she wants when she wants and she wears what she wants when she wants... and today this is reflected in her music.

Full of confidence, never afraid to be herself, young ladies continue to look up to Rihanna (despite her lows) because she has remained true to herself and hasn't allowed herself to become a victim of the music industry.

But Rihanna has not got where she is today purely because of her music and attitude, but also because of her style, her ever changing style. Always ahead of the rest, Rihanna is not afraid to experiment with both her outfits and most notably her hair. There's no trend she hasn't mastered and no hair style she hasn't rocked, whatever she does she always looks great.

Rihanna's business mind has led her to other ventures, not only does Rihanna sing, she has her own fragrances (Reb'l Fleur, Rebelle and Nude), tv program (Styled to Rock), Designs for River Island and has her own lipstick collection with make-up giant MAC.

If there is one celebrity who's style I keep a close eye on it's Rihanna. Have a look at some of my Rihanna inspired outfits below...

From Strip Club to Catwalk: Perspex Heels

Perspex shoes have come a long way; from once being solely associated with booty shaking pole dancing money throwing strip clubs, they have of late been paraded on the catwalk by top designers and now high street retailers are getting in on the action.

A bit weary at first because of their past association, I myself have ended up with three very different pairs of Perspex/PVC shoes and I suspect my collection will grow. My first pair are from Office, they simply don a perspex heel and  incorporate the current neon trend with a neon pink trim. They are very comfortable and look great with both trousers and skirts.

My second pair are from ebay but also available on Boohoo.com, they mimic the much loved Christian Louboutin pair spotted on Kim Kardashian and co. Whilst I prefer to wear them with trousers they look great with midi length dresses/skirts and of course pencil skirts. I particularly love they way they work well with the leather trend.

My third (but not final) pair of shoes are from Forever21. Not only do they have a perspex heel but the body of the shoe is PVC, given the bare foot illusion. They heel is quite high, but surprisingly comfortable. Yet to feature on their website, to get your hands on these bad boys check out your local store.

Whether it be the body of the shoe that's pvc or the perspex heel, there's one designer that stands head and shoulders above the rest; Christian Louboutin!

With the likes of Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and Kristen Stewart rocking these bad boys, it's no surprise that several high street stores have taken inspiration from CL's designs.

Whilst CL are expensive why not check out the more affordable options on the highstreet and online, you'd be surprised at the huge range available.

Primark available on ASOS!!!

Yes you better believe it, Primark is now available on ASOS!!!

Though currently there is not a huge clothing collection available on the website, what's been made available so far looks promising. Offering everything from skater dresses to varsity t-shirt dresses, Primark has really done well with this new venture. I just can't wait to see more items added.

Once the collection has grown, gone will be the days of queueing up for ages to both try on and buy Primark clothes. With a few clicks of the mouse your item(s) can be on it's way to you at super sonic speed. Oh and if like me you have an ASOS Premier account your laughing.

Here are a few of my favourite items from the collection available at the moment:

Gold Metal Strap Sandals

So after recently reading an article about gold strapped shoes (in the latest edition of Look magazine) I went on a mission to find a pair that were both versatile and sexy.

After work I decided to go shopping and after failing to find what I was looking for in several shops, found these bad boys in Forever21!

Not only do they have a gold cuff but also a gold t-bar!!! Oh... It was love at first sight and from the photos you can see why.

The shoes are much lower than my usual 5" heels, but they're just as sexy and in your face. Being black and gold they'd go with just about any colour outfit. They'd dress up a otherwise casual outfit and add glamour to any party outfit.

The shoes are also available in leopard print, which I can imagine would look sexy with a little red number! As hott as they are I prefer the more versatile all black.

For item details and to get your hands on these bad boys visit Forever21 online.
