I've had this striped top for a while now and have been wearing the hell out of it at work, yes, it looks great smartened up with black trousers and a sleek bun and my specs. But I thought it was time I featured my star buy on the blog... finally.
Due to the delay in featuring this special piece I thought I'd do something a little different to usual, I've teamed up the top and jeans with a different bag and shoes, to give you a dressed up and little more casual look.
I started off pairing the two with orange heeled sandals from Faith which complement the colours in the top. I also added my staple black and gold cross body bag from Zara. For the second more casual look, I paired the two with flat black and gold heeled sandals and a multi-way bag (which I'm wearing as a cross0body), both from Zara. I love both looks, but the flat sandals offer the perfect comfort whilst remaining chic. Which of the two looks do you prefer?

Well I think it is safe to say I've got a thing for co-ords. I don't know when it started and I don't know why, I just know it hit me hard and I'm a little obsessed (ha ha... just at little...honest). But seriously, can you blame me? A good co-ord to me is a God send. I always have trouble picking what to wear with what, so when you can have this problem resolved with a co-ord, where you're only left with decided what bag and shoes to wear, it really does help a lot. And that was exactly the situation with this co-ord I bought from Zara recently.
With its pretty emrboidered mterial in cream and navy, I wondered what would pop against my new favourite co-ord. I decided to go for something bold, but not to overwhelming, as I didn't want to detract from the beauty of the set. I decided to go for green, teaming up a green duster from Boohoo with a matching green cross body bag from Topshop. I finished off the look with perspex heels, bold red lipstick and oversized sunglasses... just to add a bit of glam.

Pretty Little Thing have been killing it with the tropical prints of late; offering bold mixes in a variety of textures. It's really got me excited for the Summer time fashion and I can't wait to shop more pieces from the brand... just a few more, maybe one or two (ha ha!).
One of my favourite tropical prints from Pretty Little Thing is this pink and green palm mix. With plenty of pieces to chose from, I decided to go for this cropped deep cut wrapped top, as I knew it would go well with my baby pink blazer from H&M. I styled the duo with a green cross body bag and white high waist skinny jeans, both from Topshop. I finished off the look with pink faux fur and perspex heels from Hidden Fashion.

Usually when people tell me I shop too much and I wear pieces only once or twice, I laugh. However, of late those comments have become my reality. I found myself constantly online looking for pieces to add to my ridiculously full wardrobe; be it a new blazer or a sexy little dress. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to buy something every now and then... but I found myself buying things that I seriously didn't need and would hardly ever wear... just because they looked pretty.
So I decided to take a step back and reevaluate my choices, I needed to make a change and that started with appreciating and loving the things I already own. So I dug out a few pieces from my wardrobe that I had bought ages ago (but have not yet featured on the blog) and decided to put an outfit together, here it is...
As you know I've been loving the stripes trend for a little while now, so I thought I'd feature another look. Instead of going for my usual bold vibrant colours, I opted for more muted tones; teaming up Navy, White and Tan. The contrasting stripes and the matching colours worked well together. I finished off the look with cool sunglasses from Missguided and a tan bag from Misspap, which highlighted the predominant colour of the outfit.

The sun was out today, so I decided to seize the opportunity and take some photos in my new favourite duster. Yellow has long been one of my favourite colours, especially mustard yellow. So when I spotted this duster on Boohoo.com I didn't hesitate in adding it to my basket. I knew there were 101 things, if not more, that I could team the beauty with, especially my cross body bag (in the same hue) from Mango.
I decided to team up the pair with monochrome, simple black and white separates, to enable all the focus and attention to be on the bright mustard beauty. I wore high waisted jeans from Topshop with a deep cut wrap bodysuit from Pretty Little Thing. I finished off the look with black and white fringed heels from Shein, which tied in the different colours of the outfit.

"Fashion says 'me too', style says 'only me'."

I remember back in the 1990s I use to hate anything floral print and for two very good reasons. Now for many 80s and 90s babies like me, you probably grew up surrounded by the print, it was the craze back then, our parents (in particular mothers) had an obsession with all things floral. From sofas to wallpaper and if you were unfortunate enough, even the carpet. Yes, that's the prime reason I hated floral; it was like a flower monster had thrown up in our house.
Secondly, my mum would always dress me up in floral or flower embellished outfits. Now although I for a while played with dolls and was very much a girlie-girl, floral was never my thing. I quite simply preferred any other print or pattern, but hey, my mum thought my sister and I looked great in the stuff, so that's what she put us in. If we were lucky, it would be frilly dresses instead of floral.
So growing up, due to being subjected to floral all my childhood, I rebelled and stayed away from it as much as possible. However, over the years my stance on the print changed dramatically. You can now find quite a few items in my wardrobe that have floral embellishments or a floral print (yes, bought by me for me, nothing to do with my mum). Though I stay away from small floral prints, I'm a huge fan of big prints, especially if they have a tropical vibe. Like on this belted blouse I recently ordered from Pretty Little Thing.
Cool but pretty, I decided to team up my blouse with boots in the same base hue; nude, or stone to some of you. Before the cooler days pass me by, I decided to finally wear these boots that had been all the rage last autumn, when I bought them. I kept the outfit casual teaming it with blue skinny jeans and a nude cross-body quilted handbag. I finished off the look with over-sized sunglasses and a splash of red lipstick. Spring ready, decked in flowers, my mum would be so proud, my father would have nightmares of our ugly 90s floral sofa.

"Fashion should be a form of escapism, and not a form of imprisonment."
- Alexander McQueen
I couldn't agree more with Alexander McQueen, it's true; fashion should be a form of escapism and not a form of imprisonment. We should all have the ability to think for ourselves and therefore decide within ourselves what is best for us in every aspect of life, including, what it is we wear and how we portray ourselves to others. I'm all for expressing yourself in your fashion choices and that is exactly what I done with this outfit.
To be honest, and if you have been following my journey for a while, you'll realise I don't have a particular style. I'm always changing things up, whether it be my hair or the clothes and shoes I wear. I guess I just get bored easily and hate to appear predictable. I like to leave people wondering what I'm going to wear and how I'm going to style it. With me there are no rules, and if someone tries to promote or encourage rules, I always break them.
Hey, what's the fun in following fashion rules anyway. I see beauty in the unexpected. I'm the one who would like the dress that everyone would think is ugly or unflattering. I'm the one who would wear yellow with green, although they should apparently never be seen together. And yes, like with this outfit; I'm the one who would wear sexy black gold studded ankle boots, with simple laid back, overly basic jogging bottoms, or sweat pants (to my followers who live outside of the UK). I'm a rule breaker.
I decided I wanted a cool laid back but edgy look this time round. So I paired the unusual jogging bottoms and ankle boots combo with a cropped sweat top from Pretty Little Thing. I added a trendy camouflage anorak from Forever 21 and my oldie but goodie faux-leather clutch bag from Zara. The finishing touches, which I think brought the outfit together well, was black lipstick from Kiko Cosmetics, gold layered necklace from Pretty Little Thing and black and gold sunglasses from Topshop.
Now if this outfit isn't breaking the rules, I don't know what is.
