Perspex shoes have come a long way; from once being solely associated with booty shaking pole dancing money throwing strip clubs, they have of late been paraded on the catwalk by top designers and now high street retailers are getting in on the action.
A bit weary at first because of their past association, I myself have ended up with three very different pairs of Perspex/PVC shoes and I suspect my collection will grow. My first pair are from Office, they simply don a perspex heel and incorporate the current neon trend with a neon pink trim. They are very comfortable and look great with both trousers and skirts.
My second pair are from ebay but also available on Boohoo.com, they mimic the much loved Christian Louboutin pair spotted on Kim Kardashian and co. Whilst I prefer to wear them with trousers they look great with midi length dresses/skirts and of course pencil skirts. I particularly love they way they work well with the leather trend.
My third (but not final) pair of shoes are from Forever21. Not only do they have a perspex heel but the body of the shoe is PVC, given the bare foot illusion. They heel is quite high, but surprisingly comfortable. Yet to feature on their website, to get your hands on these bad boys check out your local store.
Whether it be the body of the shoe that's pvc or the perspex heel, there's one designer that stands head and shoulders above the rest; Christian Louboutin!
With the likes of Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and Kristen Stewart rocking these bad boys, it's no surprise that several high street stores have taken inspiration from CL's designs.
Whilst CL are expensive why not check out the more affordable options on the highstreet and online, you'd be surprised at the huge range available.
