CELEB WATCH; Solange Knowles

Beautiful, talented and stylish... not just sister to Queen Bey, 26 year old Solange Knowles is a fashionista and of course a trendsetter. Since following in the footsteps of older sister Beyonce (though with a completely different style), emerging into the music scene in 2003 at the young age of 16, Ms Knowles has transformed both her career and her style.

Now known more for her amazing fashion sense, I just can't understand why Ms Knowles hasn't thought about a career in the fashion industry and I'm talking more than modelling for House of Dereon, because she certainly knows how to put a head turning outfit together. Though I must add I loved her music and can't wait for her big return.

No matter what she wears she always looks great, many celebrities have tried to imitate her look, while a few have come close many have failed to look as spectacular as Ms Knowles. She can literally pull of any look, my favourite having to be her africana look; rocking her full afro whilst donning bold bright prints... a look not even sister Beyonce could work better.

Below are some of my favourite looks by Ms Knowles, I've also included some inspired pieces that are currently on the high street.

PRINTS

Prints are by far my favourite look on Ms Knowles, she hasn't failed to nail this trend once. Whether its polka dot or tribal, she knows how to work it, she knows what colours compliment each other and she is not afraid to work the look from head to toe.

ZARA
CERAMIC PRINTED BLAZER £59.99

This blazer is stunning, its bold and very versatile. For maximum impact I would team this blazer with a dress in the same colours but a clashing print, like stripes or squares.

TOPSHOP
BANANA LEAF PRINT TEE £38 & MATCHING SCALLOP HEM SHORTS £32
I love this combo by Topshop it reminds me of my trip to Jamaica last year. The busyness of the print paired with its clean cut works so well. I think both pieces can be worn separately but as I love maximum impact wearing both pieces with a long line black blazer a sexy black heels would really dress this combo up. For the finishing touches plain gold accessories and perhaps a green clutch bag.

MISS SELFRIDGE
DECO PRINT SHIFT DRESS £39 £29

Shift dresses are so cute, but this shift dress is awesome. The print rather than the dress makes this dress, and with the colour pallet it definitely incorporates one of the big trends this season, monochrome. I think that this dress can be dressed up and also worn casually. To dress up pair with bold bright heels and a matching or black bag. Personally I would wear with gold jewellery for a statement look, and silver jewellery for a more casual subtle look.

CITRUS
Orange and yellow really does look great on Solange's golden brown skin, if your're not of the same complexion as Ms Knowles fear not as you can still work this trend though in different shades of orange and yellow.

ASOS
MAXI DRESS WITH 70'S CAPE NECK DETAIL £55

This dress is amazing, where do I start, the cut, the colour, the length... Oh I just do't know! It's so beautiful I'd definitely wear this dress on a formal occasion, but unlike the model I'd have my hair pulled up or back away from my face whilst showcasing some amazing gold earrings.

ZARA
DOUBLE BREASTED COTTON BLAZER £79.99

Link Ms Knowles I's pair my blazer with another citrus colour, with this blazer I'd wear a plain orange dress and cut out orange heels. For a more casual look I'd team the blazer with a pair of blue skinny jeans and a floral top that incorporates the bold yellow.

PINK
Ms Knowles always looks hot in pink, especially hot pink. This colour ensures otherwise masculine cuts look feminine and makes sexy the simplest of dresses, great for the summer and warming up the winter pink is definitely the colour to always have in your closet.

RIVER ISLAND
PINK CUTOUT SLEEVELESS SKATER DRESS £32

I love skater skirts and dresses, they do wonders for my figure and i find this dress particularly fun and flattering  With it's full skirt, fitted waist and daring cut out on the chest area this dress is a definite investment for the summer party season. Ti'me to head to the shops I'd say!

INFINTI5
ENZO ANGIOLINI £125 £65
When I saw these shoes it was love at first sight, nothing else but pure love. Stepping away from traditional leopard print, these shoes are bold and sexy, especially with the pencil thin gold heel. I would wear these shoes with sexy block colours or a contrasting prints.

And here she is with her latest single 'Losing You'
